Golf Lessons

What is the World Golf Teachers Federation: With 35 member nations that currently make up the World Golf Teachers Federation and 17,000 members world wide, each member has their own legacy, however humble. Our founder knew that there was a growing need for better teaching and the public deserved it. In creating the USGTF back in 1989 and the WGTF several years later, he knew that, by establishing an organization that provided equal opportunity and consideration for each person, we would succeed - and together we have become an irresistible force.
As a member of the Canadian and United States golf Teaching Federation
I am privy to the thoughts and teachings of our 17,000 members world wide.
They come to me in quarterly publications called Golf Teaching Pro magazine. They are filled with exciting articles that keep my lessons innovative and fun. I bring a genuine love of people, optimism, determination, and sense of humor to my teaching. Main Street Golf offers the latest in golf teaching technology and so we can offer many different ways to learn or correct the golf swing. It is important to note that it is the individual that determines how best to use the facilities at hand. Through a simple interview we can determine the best way for you to learn. As I enter my 4th year as a golf teacher I look forward to the challenge of helping the low handicap players to become even better. With the Golfotron, video and some modern statistical formulas we can pin point exactly what areas can be improved . In 2004 the USGTF came up with a 10 point responsibility code.

1) Golf teaching professionals have a responsibility to keep their golf instruction as upbeat, positive and enjoyable as possible.
2) Golf teaching professionals have a responsibility to keep up-to-date with current teaching methods, training aids, equipment and professional certification.
3) Golf teaching professionals must insure that they are appropriately authorized to use an instructional facility.
4) Golf teaching professionals must only solicit business in a professional manner and avoid personally soliciting students under another instructor's tutelage.
5) Golf teaching professionals must not make negative comments regarding a student's natural physical ability. Criticism regarding a student's level of effort must be done only in a constructive manner.
6) Golf teaching professionals should never speak in a negative manner of another teacher to students or in a public forum.
7) Golf teaching professionals, however well intentioned, should avoid giving unsolicited instruction.
8) Golf teaching professionals must not volunteer any personal problems they may have with their students that can possibly create a negative atmosphere.
9) Golf teaching professionals should donate some of their time and expertise to help promote the growth of the game.
10) Golf teaching professionals must make every effort possible to keep their own golf skills, both playing and demonstrating, at an acceptable standard.
